Yes, this is U-shi-.
Have you ever heard of Demon Slayer?
Demon Slayer is a Japanese manga and anime work that once caused a worldwide boom.
This time, I would like to introduce a shrine that is rumored to be the birthplace of Demon Slayer
It was a great place for U-Shi- who is a fan of Demon Slayer.
Please read to the end.
Details of the Shrine
First of all, I would like to announce a shrine that is said to be the birthplace of Demon Slayer.
The shrine is the Mizoguchi Kamado Shrine in Chikugo City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
Have you ever heard the words “Mizoguchi” and “Kamado” anywhere?
I am now going to introduce in detail what kind of shrine this shrine is.
What kind of shrine is the Mizoguchi Kamado Shrine?
This shrine has a history of more than 1,000 years.
The deity worshipped at this shrine is 玉依姫命(Tamayorihime no Mikoto), the god of good marriages, and is believed to be beneficial for marriage.
Relationship with Demon Slayer
From now on, I would like to introduce why the Mizoguchi Kamado Shrine is called the sacred place of Demon Slayer.
Here are eight in all.
1. In the seventh volume of the book, there is a scene in which Kyoujuro Rengoku calls out to Tanjiro Kamado, 「溝口少年!(mizoguchi shounen)」.
2. The word “Mizoguchi” is in the name of the shrine.
3. The Hengaku(shrine’s name tablet displayed on the gate) on the torii looks like the wooden box that contains Nezuko, Tanjiro’s sister.
4. The carving on the transom of the main shrine resembles the pattern of waves in the “Water Breathing” technique performed by Tanjiro and his friends.
5.Mizoguchi Kamodo Shrine was built at the demon’s gate of Mizoguchi Castle.
6. The name of Tamayo, a character in Demon Slayer, may be derived from 玉依姫命(Tamayorihime no Mikoto), the deity of the shrine.
7. The mask of a tengu used in the “Kiseru Festival” held at the Mizoguchi Kamado Shrine resembles Sakonji Urokodaki, a character in Demon Slayer.
8. Wisteria flowers, which appear as something demons hate, are famous near the Mizoguchi Kamogamon Shrine.
Yes, these are the reasons why the Mizoguchi Kamado Shrine is believed to be the birthplace of Demon Slayer.
They seemed to be very related.
However, please note that these are not officially announced and are only speculations of Demon Slayer fans.
Outside the precincts of the temple
There were many trees and the air was very nice. Also, when I visited here, there was a store and many goods of Demon Slayer and food were being sold.
Inside the precincts of the shrine
In the precincts of the temple, there were many ema (votive picture horses) with characters of Demon Slayer drawn on them, which must have been written by fans of Demon Slayer.
There was also a space for everyone to draw their own ema.
