Description of the Kinki region
What is the Kinki region?
It is a region of Japan located in the central-western part of Honshu.
It is also known as the Kansai region. It is the second largest economic region in Japan after the Kansai region, and is the core of western Japan.
Prefectures included in the Kinki region
It consists of seven prefectures : Osaka Prefecture, Kyoto Prefecture, Hyogo Prefecture, Nara Prefecture, Mie Prefecture, Shiga Prefecture, Wakayama Prefecture. (various theories exist)
